SUNDAY, 3RD SUNDAY OF ADVENT

Cycle B

"COME, LET US WORSHIP THE LORD, THE KING WHO IS TO COME."

1st Reading: "The Lord has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor, to bind up hearts that are broken, to proclaim liberty to captives, freedom to those in prison, to proclaim a year of favor from the Lord ..." (Is. 61:1-11)

2nd reading: "Be happy at all times; pray constanly, and for all things, give thanks to God." (1 Thess 5:16-24)

Gospel: "I am, as Isaiah prophesied: a voice that cries in the wilderness: Make a straight way for the Lord."

Prayer: As Christmas is fast approaching, grant, O Lord, that I may not be overwhelmed by the concerns of shopping, food, and gifts. Rather, dispose me and my family to receive the real gift: Christ Jesus in my life, in my home, in my ministry, among the poor, in my work, in my country."

Sharing: Post an insight, a prayer, an anecdote, by pressing comment. Also, please mention your name if possible. Thank you.

  3. Dear Deah,

I think this is is a wonderful opportunity for priests and lay people to collaborate so we can come up with livelier and experience-filled homilies and at the same time, recognize and praise the Holy Spirit working in our Lives. Have a Blessed Christmas!
