The King and us
John 18:33-37
In a kingdom where the the king and the subject dwells, we have have a heard a lot of stories of how the king treats his subjects, sometimes, ruthlessly, sometimes, in power and arrogance.
In Jesus' kingship, we, the subjects are living in fullness and plenty.
In Jesus' kingship, we are living in justice and peace.
In Jesus' kingship, we are living in the truth and freedom.
The servant on the other hand totally obeys the order of the king because he trusts him. He has time for him. His cause is the king's cause.
We can appreciate Jesus' kingship only if we allow ourselves to follow him. Then we can enjoy his reign without end.
