Servanthood

 After seeking wisdom to make the right decision to be a disciple: God wants to form in us what kind of disciple we should:

1. a serving disciple

2. a giving disciple  

3. the least of all disciples

better to serve than be served

1. suffering servant

2. our nature as stewards - we are servants accountable to the Lord

better to give that to receive

1. he who has given everything to save us

2. almsgiving - the common fund

better to be last than first

1. servant of the servants of God

2. turning to the least, last, and lost - church of the poor

servanthood and the pre-synod

serving the Church today

1. better serve than be served

2. promoting communion, participation, and mission in the spirit of service.
